Due to the current Corona situation we can from now on not offer backstage tours until further notice.

GUIDED TOURS OF THE MUSIKTHEATER AM VOLKSGARTEN

Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome!

Sniff the air of the theatre and gain an insight into the new Musiktheater am Volksgarten. Experience themost modern opera house in Europe from the inside and access areas that are off limits to regulartheatregoers. The tour offers a stunning look at the Großer Saal, the foyer with the sound installations,the innovative BlackBox Studio stage, the orchestra area, the dressing rooms and parts of the workshops.

(Please note that due to the ongoing activities in the theatre, tour times may be subject to change or not all areas may be accessible for viewing at all times.).


Please note:

Due to the long distances and many stairs the tour covers, general physical fitness is a prerequisite for the tour.

No liability can be accepted for objects left at the cloakroom.

A reservation is necessary for each of the tours!


PUBLIC TOURS

Dates: every Saturday at 4:00 PM.

Exception: The tour is not available when the day’s performance starts in the afternoon.

Price: € 10.00 per person | children up to 14 € 3.00 per person

Duration: 1 1/2 hours

The maximum number of participants is 15.

For all participants from the age of 6 years onwards, the wearing of a mouth and nose protector during the entire stay in the theatre is legally obligatory. Please observe the minimum distance of 1 metre to other people.

Group Tours

Dates: Monday to Friday, 2:00 to 6:00 PM.

Price: € 63.00 per group

If you are attending the performance on the same day, the tour costs € 48.00 per group.

Duration: 1 ½ hours

Meeting point: Entrance foyer Musiktheater, Am Volksgarten 1, 4020 Linz


Group size: max. 15 people per group

If there are more than 15 participants, a further group with its own guide will be formed. Two groups can be guided in parallel.

TOURS OF THE COSTUME COLLECTION

The collection of costumes at the Landestheater comprises approximately 110,000 pieces. The head of the costume department takes visitors through the storerooms and reveals many secrets about this extraordinary treasures.


Dates: on demand

Price: € 84,00 per group

If you are attending a performance on the same day € 66.00 per group.

Duration: 1 ½ hours, of which you spend 45 minutes in the storerooms.

Curtain on! - Come with your family and take a look behind the scenes

Where do the performers prepare for their big performance? What exactly do the spotlights look like? Can you actually fly in theatre? Who pushes the big stage sets on stage? Where do the Bruckner Orchester Linz and the opera choir rehearse?

We would like to pursue these and other exciting questions with you as part of an interactive tour through the linz opera. We look forward to seeing you!

Two dates during the Children's Culture Week: 13 and 20 October 2019,

11:00 - 12.00 AM and 15.00 - 16.00 PM

Per appointment a maximum of 25 participants is possible.

GUIDED BACKSTAGE TOURS At the Schauspielhaus and Kammerspiele promenade

The 1803 built Schauspielhaus, designed by famous architect Clemens Holzmeister, awaits you now, since the grand reopening in april 2017, in a fully renovated condition and regained beauty.
