In desperation, the hopelessly unsuccessful actor Michael Dorsey goes to an audition for the role of the wet nurse in a new musical adaptation of Romeo and Juliet, dressed as a woman. But when he actually gets the part as "Dorothy Michaels", the problems are just beginning. Actually, his neurotic girlfriend Sandy had speculated on the role, director Ron is a macho man with horrible staging ideas, reality star Max likes more mature women, and colleague Julie is extremely attractive to Michael (and Dorothy?).
