Information
Tick's performances as a drag queen in Sydney are only moderately successful. When his ex-wife contacts him and asks him to perform in the hotel she manages in Alice Springs, he rounds up two friends, the not-so-dewy transsexual Bernadette and the young Adam. They set off on the journey of a lifetime across the Australian outback in a beat-up bus called Priscilla. Along the way, they encounter the inhabitants of a mining town, an urbane Aboriginal tourist guide and the car mechanic Bob, who has his eye on Bernadette. With Bob's help, Priscilla actually makes it to Alice Springs. Tick looks forward anxiously to meeting his son: Will Benji accept him as he is?
Stephan Elliott's film was a surprise hit and won an Oscar in 1995. The musical adaptation features numerous disco superhits - from the Weather Girls' "It's Raining Men" to Tina Turner's "What's Love Got To Do With It" and the Village People smash "Go West". For the first time in Austria: glittering costumes, big hearts and hits non-stop!
